Caitlin O’Hehir, LGPC

Caitlin O’Hehir is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) with a strong background in supporting adolescents and young adults as they navigate emotional challenges, identity development, and life transitions. She also has a special interest in working with athletes, helping them manage performance anxiety, build resilience, and maintain balance both on and off the field.

Beach Sand and Ocean

Originally from Long Island, New York, Caitlin moved to Maryland to pursue her passion for mental health and helping others. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology before continuing her education at Johns Hopkins University, where she received her Master of Science in Counseling. These experiences deepened her understanding of human behavior and strengthened her commitment to fostering meaningful, supportive therapeutic relationships.

Caitlin’s therapeutic approach integrates Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She values CBT for its practical, evidence-based strategies that help clients recognize and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, build coping skills, and develop emotional resilience.

Person-Centered Therapy guides her work through empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard, creating a safe, collaborative environment where clients feel genuinely supported. Through Solution-Focused Therapy, Caitlin empowers clients to identify their strengths, envision meaningful goals, and take concrete steps toward positive change. She also incorporates Motivational Interviewing techniques to enhance clients’ intrinsic motivation and confidence in their ability to make lasting, self-directed progress.

Clear Water

Caitlin works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress-related concerns, helping them build self-awareness, confidence, and healthy coping strategies that extend beyond the therapy room.

She believes in meeting clients where they are and walking alongside them as they learn to navigate challenges, uncover strengths, and move toward meaningful growth.

Outside of her counseling work, Caitlin finds joy in activities that bring her peace and balance. She enjoys walking, running, and practicing yoga, as well as spending time outdoors and connecting with the world around her.
